Clinique Soft Matt Lipstick

I'm excited to review this lipstick (granted with my current love for lippies). This is the Clinique Soft Matt Lipstick. Now I've gone through a variety of lippies, from moisturising lipsticks, matt lipsticks, sheer lipsticks - the works, but never had I tried a "soft matt" lipstick. 

So I received this Clinique Soft Matt Lipstick in the colour plum, and at first I thought - there goes another drying matt lipstick. Now with that perception it was a given that this lipstick would float around in my bag before I actually tried it. So I had this lipstick in my bag for a week and I hadn’t tried it. 

Now my disclaimer is such, the best time for me to try a product is during the week as I get to focus and ponder on the product itself. So during my usual midweek morning craze, as I was doing my makeup in the car (as usual) I scratched through my bag and out came across this lipstick. As I applied the lipstick to my lips (expecting the same usual results), I was pleasantly surprised. I took a closer look at my lipstick in the review mirror and needles to say, I absolutely love this plum colour. 

Now the “soft matt” texture is what blew me away. On application the lipstick is instantly moisturizing, leaving my lips feeling soft as ever. Once applied the lipstick gives off the matt look (which I absolutely love). The texture on the lips is almost like you've applied cream on your lips. It leaves your lips ever so soft. The staying power of this lipstick is what I would expect from a good quality lipstick, reapplication about twice a day. I was also impressed with the packaging, (it comes in a silver tube) so it automatically stands out in the chaos I have going on in my handbag. 

These lipsticks come in a variety of colours and you can purchase yourself one from any Clinique counter. So if you’re a lippie fan and love playing with texture, then you’ll definitely enjoy this lipstick. This one gets a thumbs up from me. Loved the feeling. Go ahead and grab yourself one.
